Entrance Hymn - I Watch the Sunrise

I watch the sunrise lighting the sky,
Casting its shadows near.
And on this morning bright though it be,
I feel those shadows near me.

But you are always close to me
Following all my ways.
May I be always close to you
Following all your ways, Lord.

I watch the sunlight shine through the clouds,
Warming the earth below.
And at the mid-day, life seems to say:
I feel your brightness near me.

For you are always close to me
Following all my ways.
May I be always close to you
Following all your ways, Lord.

I watch the sunset fading away,
Lighting the clouds with sleep.
And as the evening closes its eyes,
I feel your presence near me.

For you are always close to me
Following all my ways.
May I be always close to you
Following all your ways, Lord.

I watch the moonlight guarding the night,
Waiting till morning comes.
The air is silent, earth is at rest
Only your peace is near me.

Yes, you are always close to me
Following all my ways.
May I be always close to you
Following all your ways, Lord.

Opening Prayer: Fr. Oliver Antao

Eulogy - John Michael Kane

First Reading from the prophet Isaiah - Kane Pirankar

Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name, you are mine.
Should you pass through the sea, I will be with you;
Or through the rivers, they will not swallow you up.
Should you walk through fire, you will not be scorched and the flames will not burn you.
For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.

This is the Word of the Lord.

Responsorial Psalm = The Lord is my Shepherd

1. The Lord’s my shepherd, I’ll not want.

He makes me down to lie

In pastures green: he leadeth me

the quiet waters by.

2. My soul he doth restore again;

and me to walk doth make

Within the paths of righteousness,

ev’n for his own name’s sake.

3. Yea, though I walk in death’ vale,
yet will I fear none ill:
For thou art with me; and thy rod
and staff me comfort still.

4. My table thou hast furnishèd
In presence of my foes;
My head thou dost with oil anoint,
And my cup overflows.

5. Goodness and mercy all my life
Shall surely follow me,
And in God’s house forever more
My dwelling place shall be.

Second Reading from the Acts of the Apostles - James Kane

Peter addressed Cornelius and his household:  “The truth I have now come to realize,” he said, “Is that God does not have favourites” but that anybody of any nationality who fears God and does what is right is acceptable to Him.

“It is true, God sent his word to the people of Israel, and it was to them that the good news of peace was brought by Jesus Christ – but Jesus Christ is the Lord of all people, and he has ordered us to proclaim this to his people and to tell them that God has appointed Him to be judge of everyone, alive or dead.  It is to Him that all the prophets bear this witness:  that all who believe in Jesus will have their sins forgiven through His name.”

This is the word of the Lord.

Gospel Acclamation according to John (14: 1-6)

Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God still, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father's house; if there were not, I should have told you. I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am you may be too. You know the way to the place I am going."

Thomas said, "Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me."

This is the Gospel of the Lord

Congregation - Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ

Bidding Prayers - Chris Lintorn, Sarah Kane, Harry Kane, Patrick Kane and Anna Kane

Dear Lord,

We remember Mary Kane, a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  GrandMa always gave more than she would receive.

Lord hear us,

R: Lord graciously hear us.

Dear Lord,
We pray that we may be like Grandma, that we have eyes to see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad and a soul that never loses faith.

Lord hear us:

R: Lord graciously hear us.

Dear Lord,
Grandma's faith in you was boundless. Unite her now in endless joy with her beloved husband and friends in the paradise of heaven.

Lord hear us:

R: Lord graciously hear us.

Dear Lord,
We pray for all that are here today, virtually and in spirit to say farewell to Grandma. She was loved by so many may she rest in peace.

Lord hear us:

R: Lord graciously hear us.

Dear Lord,
We thank you for the gift of having Grandma as part of our lives for so many years. May she rest now in peace with you.

Lord hear us:

R: Lord graciously hear us.

Offertory Hymn - Make me a channel of Your peace

Make me a channel of Your peace
Where there is hatred, let me bring Your love
Where there is injury, Your pardon Lord
And where there's doubt, true faith in You

Make me a channel of Your peace
Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope
Where there is darkness, only light
And where there's sadness, ever joy

Oh Master, grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love with all my soul

Make me a channel of Your peace
It is pardoning that we are pardoned
In giving to all men that we receive
And in dying that we're born to eternal life

Communion Hymn - The Old Rugged Cross

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross
The emblem of suff'ring and shame
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
'Til my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it someday for a crown

Oh, that old rugged cross, so despised by the world
Has a wondrous attraction for me
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
'Til my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it someday for a crown

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine
A wondrous beauty I see
For 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died
To pardon and sanctify me

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
'Til my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it someday for a crown

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true
Its shame and reproach gladly bear
Then He'll call me someday to my home far away
Where His glory forever I'll share

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
'Til my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it someday for a crown

Final Hymn - solo Jayne Smith

Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side.
The summer's gone, and all the roses falling,
It's you, it's you must go and I must bide.

But come ye back when summer's in the meadow,
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow,
It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow,
Oh, Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so!

But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying,
If I am dead, as dead I well may be,
You'll come and find the place where I am lying,
And kneel and say an Ave there for me.

And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me,
And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be,
For you will bend and tell me that you love me,
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me!
